I'm pretty sure all cars are going to get bigger and bigger every year and the new smaller cars will come out and replace the old class. A Yaris today prob has about as much room as the Corolla a decade ago.
Maxima I think is in the Avalon/Azera class?

Personally I wouldn't put any Nissan/Honda/Toyota in the same class with Infiniti/Acura/Lexus. Some cars may be similar size but are often more luxury in the premium brands and in turn costs more. e.g. the ES may be the same size as the Camry, but prob priced similar to Avalon.
    Yes, I meant the Sonata.

I think the Azera competes well with the Avalon, but the Maxima is a bit more sport oriented than the two of them, so I don't think they're in the same class.

Yeah, the ES is priced about the same as an Avalon, but the weird thing is that they offer basically the same things. There isn't much difference content -wise.

When cars are in the same price class, I think you can compare them such as Avalon/ES/TL/Maxima are all similar price range, size and cater about to the same audience.

Just a gentle reminder that Infiniti/Acura/Lexus were and mostly still are nothing more than pretentious export rebrand derivatives of existing home-market Nissan/Honda/Toyota vehicles, and often lacking the full features of their original japanese brand-source models
