    Look what i made [Engraved mirror, NOW with how-to]

    Look what I made this week

    It's a mirror in which I graved a picture of a Ferrari F40 and the logo's of Ferrari. If anyone wants I can explain how this is done, I have already written a Dutch tutorial and I can give it a try to translate it to English. For your information: the Dutch Tutorial can be found here.

    This mirror will be placed behind the die-cast models my brother has collected, and the most models he has are Ferrari's, so that explains my choice of what to make.

    I have used a picture (I enclosed it too) which was posted in Matt's hi-res hide-out, and I want to thank de one who posted it for doing so. I mean it was Nopassn but I'm not sure.

    Well, how do you like this piece of self made art ?

    Rough Translation:

    * Graveerstiftjes for the Dremel
    * Thinner
    * Kitchen paper
    * Detergent
    * Towel
    * Water (in bottle)

    Of course need we the victim of our casemod, the mirror. Further Dremel or imitation tool are indispensable for this job. These are armed with graveerstiftjes. Your tutorialschrijver have the preference for graveerstiftjes of
    Proxxon
    which is available in several half-measures.

    Further we have of course made a beautiful design that will be engraved in the mirror. This could be made in a program like photoshop, or by hand, but it is vital that the design is eventually printed with a laser printer on normal paper. You should have signed the arrangement at home only have concerning an ink jet printer or the design with the hand, no need. The local hypermarket or kopieerwinkel brings help. For a couple stuivers is possible ink jet you there your - or let
    process pencil design to laser printer impression.

    The design must be printed such as eventually visible must become. Therefore NOT in mirror picture...

    Furthermore the front of the mirror is advise protect it with laagje
    schilderstape
    . Nothing is more disappointing to discover than after your
    graveerwerk spry on your mirror
    . That is possible you but improves for to be, it is finally a small effort.

    If you have done all of the above, you are ready to proceed. An important step in making the engraved mirror is transmitting the design on the mirror. And perhaps this also the step is that demands most of the exercise and dexterity.

    We place the mirror with (possibly taped up) the front on the towel
    and undertake the design. We keep in the thinner hand range. Then it is best the made place design with the printed side on the
    back of the mirror. Care all that exactly on the desired spot lies
    so that your are make
    an impression of the design on the mirror.

    We take vervolgens a piece kitchen paper and folds that to a handzame
    muzzle which we make wet with thinner
    . Afterwards we sweep the back of the mirror with a wet paper-towel. Thereby we must watch that all parts of the design to the turn to
    come, but tevens it is not important more often than one time all touch
    parts
    . When the design too nat becomes the lines uitvloeien and must we the
    transfer as failed consider. When that happens has lost still nothing there. The wrong design can become simply with thinner removed whereupon we
    with a new impression to start again.
    Look there also not astonished of on when it does not go in one time
    direct well. Also undersigned ensures still a number extra printjes for the
    reserve.

    With what exercise it will go eventually always easier well, and then we have an acceptable impression to end. Possibly we can what less clear parts update with thin watervaste
    stift or cd-marker.

    Does the design stand well on the mirror? Then we are ready the Dremel will undertake. Is it also skilful for a flask water at the hand at houen and possibly
    also a small beetje detergent.
    If we will engrave are it, as it happens, best the mirror well keep
    nat. This refrigeration for the graveerstift not only is, also the nathouden prevent being released large quantities of fine
    substance.

    It is, however, pleasant that water flows well concerning the mirror, and since we are zojuist with thinner in are water flows rather bad. A small droplet detergent does the truc in this case. Such as you above forms the water without detergent can see small
    plasje, after with detergent in for being it flows better much.
    And then it is time really undertake the Dremel. We place graveerstiftje in the apparatus and choose a neat speed. My preference assumes to standje 6 or 7 the 10 scores which my Dremel
    count.
    Engraving himself presents in principle little. Netjes lijntjes to follow therefore also learn the average Dutchman
    already on the small child school and for the moddende junk no problem
    must be. The design that in these tutorial plays the head role only you exist
    areas larger want engrave than are possible that of course also from
    lines but could.
    After some time we have all visible line engraved and are the mod
    ready. That promises what, and after the protecting tape to have removed turns we the mirror for
    and is we ready for the final result...

    Directly after the Dremel the mirror lies this way, and that sees already good but the carving reaches completion, its
    right if reduction is placed or under the mirror.
    Then we place the mirror on the floor of the computer cupboard and
    enjoy the result. Making carvings is not exceptionally difficult. Having a fixed hand is pleasant but everyone can carry out this mod.

    Now, can we get a better translation of the rest of the jumbled stuff?

    So far, I'm bolding the uninterpreble stuff.
