This weekend, we were on the French Cote d'Azur to cover the seventh annual Dix Mille Tours. First held in 2010, it is now one of Peter Auto's signature events and featured all the familiar grids associated with the French organiser. These ranged from the 1950s and 1960s GT and sports cars of the two-hour Sixties' Endurance race through to the achingly quick 1980s and 1990s prototypes that featured in the two 45-minute Group C Racing sprint races. Among the many great cars on track were the likes of the Ferrari 250 LM, Ferrari 312 PB, Porsche 917, Sauber-Mercedes C11 and Aston Martin AMR1. Although not quite as wet as last year, Saturday saw some rain, which allowed for beautiful 'rooster tails' but did not affect the running like it did in 2015. Despite the changeable conditions, around 12,000 spectators flocked to the Paul Ricard circuit to enjoy the sights and sounds of these phenomenal racing cars.
We were trackside throughout the event and have returned with a spectacular, class-by-class 240-shot gallery that serves to illustrated a concise report of the 2016 Dix Mille Tours.
