The FCC dropped the license requirement about 15 years ago for most civilian communication use, and the handheld market really took off.
Before that, you had to be certified... know Morse code, frequency theory, etc. Anyway, we're limited in the U.S. to the 60-meter (5 MHz)
band UHF/VHF frequencies alotted for that use. My boat radio has 128 channels and operates at up to 70 watts, useful when far from shore.
Most handhelds are about 5 watts but the limiting factor is batteries.

I know you need one for Ham radio, but not too sure about that stuff.

I thought the limiting factor was line of site obstructions more than the power of the transmitter/aka batteries.

^^^ All low power restricted frequency two-ways are limited to line-of-sight (LOS), but what I meant was about your question of licenses for CB radios over 5 watts. After reading the reviews on the units you bought, squelch moderation will be important to get the longest range. Try testing the units with a freind, in open country as well as separated by rock or really dense forest to know for sure.

I tried out the little pizza oven my mum gave me for my birthday this year on sat night, it was really good. I made the dough in my bread maker, so super easy. Creates a bit of a mess, but tasty pizza resulted.

Not a purchase- but a sell back.

Got $77 back in Amazon credit by shipping back books I used in the last couple of semesters.

I hate my school so much I'm not selling books back to the school bookstore. More often than not they don't accept books, and there's nothing you really can't buy from Amazon.

I started a new job last week, and they gave me an iphone 4S. I already had an ipod touch, so it's nothing too new really. It does some things better than my Lumia 800, but others not so much.

colour was not my first pick, but as with the 965, the price and condition are just right.

Congratulations, clutch... that looks lovely, nice score!

Ceylon is a striking and rare color on any BMW, so long term you may find that a bonus or hopefully, grow to like it. BTW, is the twin Stromberg setup how it was delivered to OZ? I've never seen them on a 2002, only on E12 518/520s... there's a pair collecting dust in my shop. Will a swap to 40PHH Solex/Weber/Mikuni carbs be in your plans?

I are jealous too... But I least it helped it happen so that's good, I guess.
