Some Pontiac Grand-Am or something that I was forced to rent and was forced to spend ten hours in driving home from Vegas. A new Ford Mustang Convertible (still looks nice from the outside though). Finally, considering how much it cost, my ex-girlfriend's father's Jaguar XK8 was unimpressive in every single way.

It took you ten hours to drive from LV to LA? How?

When we made that journey in a crappy Malibu rental it took around three and a half hours with a stop at Barstow on the way...(that's from the Circus, Circus hotel and Casino to Anaheim BTW)

The three worst cars I've driven (in reverse order):

    3. 2006 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4i16v 5-door
    2. 2001 Ford Mondeo LX 1.8i16v 5-door
    1. 2003 Fiat Punto Active 1.2i8v 3-door

The three best cars I've ever driven (in reverse order):

    3. 2007 Citroen C4 VTR+ 1.6HDi (110BHP)
    2. 2003 GMC Yukon XL 5.3 Vortec (I know, I know it's a big 4x4 but it was enjoyable to drive, especially with the V8 soundtrack!!!)

    Let's see:

    3. 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 ES - this was a rental. It retailed in the Australian market at A$20,000 and had less equipment than the '97 Ford Mondeo I owned at the time. It had very light, vague steering, poor grip, and terminal understeer even at low speed. Refinement was poor. It was hard to get a truly comfortable driving position. The Lancer's only redeeming point was the engine was reasonably powerful. By far the most damning thing I can say about it is that the 2004 Hyundai Lantra that I drove six months before this was a far, far better and more enjoyable car to drive.

    2. 1984 Mitsubishi Tredia 1.6. I drove this appalling heap of crap back in the mid '90s. Was owned by my flatmate. Still can't figure out how it had a roadworthy as it was full of rust and more dangerous in Auckland traffic (where I lived at the time) than riding a pushbike. I think the steering was connected by rubber bands. I ended up encouraging my flatmate to sell it to the wreckers - a truly fitting end to an appalling car.

    1. 1975 Ford Cortina Mk 3 2.0 Wagon. This was the car I learnt to drive in - so I do have some fond memories for that reason. However, objectively, it was a terrible car. Strong engine, not so great suspension. Soft suspension, heavy steering and since it was the wagon quite light at the rear. Even moderate cornering speeds saw the rear threaten to step out. Worse, it was unreliable and stranded me with a blown engine at one stage.

Terribly undamped, cramped, lousy clutch, cheap interior. Considering the cost, suddenly a bus seems a viable option. Drove it on a test drive, and never want to drive it again.

    1997 Chevrolet Lumina
Old, terrible interior and exterior, and somehow manages to get only 150ish hp from a 3.1L

    1991 Ford Escort
On a hot day, choose between the radio or the aircon. Crap brakes and suspension, and even when maxed out, trucks flash me for going too slowly
