Caterham 7, anybody heard of it?
Hey has anybody heard of the Caterham 7?
Originally desighned by Colin Chapman, it was the Lotus 7. In the late 70's Chapman sold the right and all the parts to Caterham. Since then Caterham have produced over 10,000 different models from, the fun reasonably fast superport, to the insane superlight R500. They have also constructed a SV version which is desighned for bigger people who require more space. Caterham 7's are manufactered in Kent, south England. They also have a showroom in the Midlands. My father and I currently own a British racing green 1.4 Supersport. We bought it last year for £11,000, and it has been nothing but fun all the way. Roughly in Mph, it does 0-60 in 6 secs with a top speed of around 130 mph. Not bad accleration for its price It doesn't stop there, the Caterham has surperb handling and can take most corners at quite high speeds. The mpg for ours is very good to at around 35. We have taken it on a few tracks and are planning to do the Nurburg Ring in the summer For more info go to www.caterham.co.uk |

yes the Westfield 7 is a copy of it. They are more common but not as nice in my opinion. Its alot of fun for its price. the best model the R500, is priced at around £30,000 and does 0-60 in 4 secs with top speed of 150mph
![]() Caterham also did a 21 which only 50 were built

The R500 is awesome. Isn't it the fastest road-legal producion vehicle from 0-60? If I ever have the money, I'm sooooooo gonna get one of these ![]() There's the Caterham 21 as well, dunno if it's built any more. It's based on a 7 chassis, but with a few more creature comforts, at the sacrifice of handling and performance. But the 7 was so excellent, the 21 is still very quick and nimble. Very nice little car ![]()
