Man, I dont know what to say .......................
they will pay the agreed value no problem, but the value agreed on was the sticking point in the first place given the bespoke parts.
if enough is salvageable, say the driveline for instance, then we'll have enough to transfer it into a fresh shell and end up with something not quite as bespoke but near identical to drive.
if nothing is salvageable, then there isn't enough to start another triumph up from scratch will have to look at something else.
for instance, i don't even know if there is anyone who makes those fibreglass bonnets/front ends any more?

Jeez man! What a waste! Good luck in sorting out this mess. Be careful not to let the insurance get away with a cheap deal for them (just some advice from someone with three totalled cars in his life allready )..

    Wow, that's terrible.

Hope you can salvage as much as you can from the wreck and rebuild.

Jesus, Clutch... that's awful. The photos are hard to look at, knowing how much you had worked on it. Really sad.
What's the guy's excuse... was he on the phone?

is looking for you over here worth doing or is shipping prohibitive ?
Quiller are good for f/g panels but dont think they do full front.
Can ask around the classic club scene here if you want.
Just factor in the cost to ship and let me know how much you're able to offer.
KNow one went couple of years back for £50 !!

Quiller does list a full front and it's not huge money but still, it's not cheap: http://www.quillertriumph.co.uk/Quil...ndhardtops.htm

Regardless, from the looks of it Clutch is gonna need a new tub. From the way it was hit, if it wasn't in gear the engine and drivetrain should be OK. All the interior bits can be ready for the next place to call home. Best of luck with that, mate.

thanks, shouldn't be a problem - i'm with a specialist insurance company who usually do their best to help. choice of repairer (you can do it yourself and just present the bill), full salvage rights etc. they should come through

not at all, if it's cheap enough - relatives over there run a dealership so if i can locate a cheap enough rolling shell it's worth it to ship i think.
if we salvage enough parts and i can't find one locally, will definately be looking at your end of the world!

thanks CSL. there's no oil under the car so i'm holding out hope..
but also the impact at the front did not hit the chassis (the car is too low) but went straight into the radiator so i don't know how much force was put on the engine.

    i might go down and have a look at some auctions;
Car Insurance Australia - Car Enthusiasts - Classic Car Insurance - Shannons

also later today i'm giving the road and track workshop a call
Road And Track - Toyota Spare Parts Ipswich
as they might have some rolling shells available (hell, i might throw an offer on their track GT6)

Sorry to see/here that Clutch, I hope you'll manage to save the most parts of the car.

Just curious, clutch... do your insurance companies allow you to buy back the wreck, even if they total it and pay you a dividend?
Besides that, how'd the trip to the auctions and R&T go?
