So it turns out Opel is now being here as a brand, rather than being rebadged as Holdens. I guess they decided that Holden will sell Daewoos and Commodores and Opel can be a nice niche for people with long, happy memories of the Astra and.. Vectra? Niche brand, I guess.

    I reckon, wot?

In other news, I went karting at Eastern Creek for a mate's bidet today. My best lap was a 42.7 (third best in our group), but I was taken out by a backmarker in the final race so I was only third. I was dicing for first at the time. The guy that got first was not one of the guys that got a 42 at all in the day, so.. consistancy I guess. Given it was my first time, I'm not disappointed in my performance.. but it would've been nice to've been able to actually race to the end in the final race.

Opel in Ozland? I guess it's a way to bleed less money for them... if someone buys their cars that is.

On an unrelated note, their cars are really fat these days!

I'm pretty sure that was here as a Holden too. I didn't think Opel had ever been here as a brand.

Opel has never been here as a brand before. The Calibra, like the Astra and Vectra have always been badged Holdens.

In the top picture, is that a typical modified ute? It is so extreme it almost looks Japanese.

It's nice to see that they've picked sides in the raging Kenworth vs. Freightliner/Oregon vs. Washington debate. It's an often neglected rivalry along with DeSoto vs. LaSalle and others.

Holy contrariwise-antipodean(or whatever the hell North Americans are) thread revival, Batman!

This is too good. I am currently traveling in Japan, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a Toyota CerviXXX...
