If you're going to do it properly, go 911 Turbo.

The other choices given were the STI engine and the 1.8T... both are front engines. Ferrer then said the 917 engine would be better than these two, and I agree... and then you said a 911 Turbo engine would be better. If we were talking about rear engine, then you'd right. But we're not.

    917 engine > 911 engine.

    vw bug rx7 engine swap.

Go to Kennedy engineered products. $400 bucks for Mazda's rotary engine adapter kit for type 1 trans axle, aka bug. Just need counterweight from automatic rx7 and a few other things.

    Thumbs down FAIL.

Wow, mustangpimp is the only one who has actually said anything useful.

Yes, Rx-7s are rotary engines. The swap is fairly simple, and you can get an adapter from Mazda . The only difficult part is finding where to put your radiator.

You need a built transmission, preferably a bus transmission for a bolt in option.

A rotary engine is a good option because it is actually streetable. Anything in a bug with 200hp+ is barely streetable, and anything over 250hp is simply stupid, unless racing is all you are planning to do.

I am amazed at how stupid everyone in this forum seems to be, and 63buggin, if you want some real people to talk to that know something about vws, go to thesamba.com. You can actually get answers there, rather than retarded comments and insults.

    This forum is a fail.

way to live up to the supposed precedent you are criticizing for. oh, and way to add pretty much nothing to the discussion that hasn't already been said. and kudos to having such a welcoming first post. i sense your time here will be short.

It brings a smile that folks don't bother to look at the AGE of posts and threads

Also, to expect a forum on general cars liek UCP to be oozing over such a specific seems a little unusual too. I mean if this was a rotary forum ( like my other one ) then I'd fully understand vrbugger's comments. But maybe not as HE/SHE even points out going to another forum.

As it is, just leaves me confused and non-plussed at the same time

Yes, now we all know the RX-7 has a rotary engine. We learn something new every day.
