    Old vehicle graveyard

Whilst on holiday, me and the SWAMBO decided to do a tour of small towns in our province. We bought a book ,although 30yrs old, on the subject and off we went. After a couple of days we discovered an old vehicle graveyard on a farm. After meeting up with the owner, he still maintain that he will be rebuilding all the vehicles and stash them into a museun on the R63, a road leading to heaps of small towns driving from Cape Town.

What worries me is the man is already almost 75 yrs old.....how old is he gonna be when all these projects are finished??

In the fisrt of the pix is an old Fordson Super Major 4x4 tractor, which he still use from time to time

The old mans father was involved in a crash with the milktruck, at 03h00 in the middle of the Karroo, a semi desert area, in 1946. Given that even today there is hardly any traffic in that area at night time......wonder if he was pissed or what!!

His oldman was also involved in an accident with this little Austin in the late 50's...apparently someone died in the car with him..

Its a shame cars like these examples are left to rot in the open like that. Ive seen car graveyards like this in Tennessee and Georgia with rusty Charger R/Ts, Chevelles, and assorted beauties. This makes me wish i had the money to restore all of them.

Not much there that isn't agricultural, really. The few cars of any interest are well past saving, so no tears to shed...
just enjoying the photos is enough.

Sad with the VW Type 2.
Fix that one up (if possible) and ship it to Europe and earn a lot of cash!

I watch a lot of the shows that seem popular these days w/ the people who collect old antiques/junk (like American Pickers) and it always surprises me how no matter how old they are they either say "I'm too attached to it to sell it" or "I'm still planning on restoring this stuff" when clearly they are not since it's been sitting for 30 years. Nothing wrong with that, it just cracks me up. Must be a cool place to walk around and snap pictures at though.
