i just took my uncle's fiat 695 abarth wich has less than 40hp and in-order to not hit the car behind i have to bury the throttle even at a red-light or it would have taken light years to get the speed back and it was more rewarding to gain 30MPH in this than 187 in a corvette(which is very fun!), plus I was quicker off the lights than a GTR.
    anyway i would give it:

Same for me with only 39kW or 50 hp. It can be quite fun though ! Reaching higher speeds is a real challenge as you definately have to work for it

I need an alignment, and new pads and rotors would help a lot. So would a new drivers seat, since 9 years of abuse have taken a toll on the bolsters.

    Mercedes Benz 380SE W126

8: Styling (within its 1980s era a very clean, contemporary & pleasant looking sedan imo, has aged pretty well)

Engine: (no drips or smoke and virtually zero oil consumption between changes despite 430,000 kms on original rings/bearings FTW)

    9: Starting
7: Response/acceleration (lacks off-idle torque, ok thereafter if revved, good highway overtaking, gives 6,000rpm redline-upshifts in 'D')
7: Fuel mileage (21-26 mpg is reasonable for era/size)
    8: Noise (V8 w/ sports exhaust)
9: Vibration (not as good as a rotary but nevertheless is V8 smooooth)

    Drivetrain:
    7: Shift smoothness
    10: Transmission controls

Brakes: (very powerful for era, Mercs usually have great brakes, firm progressive pedal)
    9: Response
    9: Pedal pressure
    9: Smoothness
    10: Directional stability (ABS)
?: Fade resistance (never had any fade as I'm easy on brakes so dunno? has clever turbines inside wheel centres for cooling 4W-Discs)

    Steering:
6: Response (slower ratio but excellent turning circle)
    7: Accuracy
10: Feedback (nothing gets through on the roughest roads fantastic isolation & zero column shake)
5: Road feel (not too much of this gets through either)

    Suspension:
9: Ride comfort (smooth hydropneumatic IRS w/ self-leveller, has lots of suspension travel & uses up every bit of it)
8: Harshness control (few thumps on very rough dirt)
    5: Roll stiffness
    9: Tracking
    9: Pitch control
9: Shock damping (OE Bilstein gas)

    Controls:
8: Location (yes I like the practical dash-mounted handbrake)
    8: Relationship
    7: Small controls
8: Instrument comprehensiveness (lacks oil temp & voltmeter)
8: Instrument legibility (would be 9 if not for its metric-graduated oil pressure gauge)

    Interior:
9: Visibility (lowish waistline & front/rear corners easily seen)
    10: Instrumentation
    9: Lighting
8: Entry/exit (larger sedan, no problems)
8: Storage space (no silly central handbrake taking up space in the console)
    9: Wind noise
    8: Road noise

    Weather protection:
5: Ventilation (bring back 1/4 vents! typically poor euro ventilation but does have huge power-sunroof)
    10: Weather sealing
    8: Windshield wiper action
5: Heater/defroster/air cond. (gutsy heater, novel & effective vented door panels, mediocre a/c, stupid automatic climate control)

Quality control: (fantastic construction quality overall, built to last, decent crashworthiness)
10: Materials, exterior (thick panels go 'clunk' not 'dingggg' & also features alloy bonnet/bootlid)
10: Interior (real wood & real leather etc)
    10: Exterior finish (outstanding)
10: Interior finish (some defects now at this mileage but still all-original trim etc)
9: Hardware and trim (super-durable no-maintainance MB-Tex upholstery would be even better than my leather)
10: Sheet metal (super-solid bodyshell & doors, beautiful panel wraps & edge trim)
11: Paint (superb quality OE duco)
    10: Chrome
    10: Upholstery
    9: Padding

    General:
8: Service accessibility (daily checks fine, smaller jobs ok but I'm told that engine removal is tough)
4: Bumper protection (shitty flush-fit plastic bumpers, good bodywork protection from stones)
9: Exterior lighting (dash-adjustable headlight height, great headlights after retrofit 80/110w globes, standard fogs & euro parkers, clever dust-resistant fluted tail lights)
6: Resistance to crosswinds (disappointing if fuel tank empty, thank you Fleet for including this question)
8: Luggage space (good shape/size for vehicle type/dimension)

9: Ground clearance (excellent, heaps of it and comes in very handy - an often ignored aspect)
5: Throttle (long travel but ridiculously heavy spring is typically M-B awful, you eventually almost nearly get used to it...)

    Comfort:
    8: Steering wheel position
    8: Shoulder room, front
    8: Rear
    8: Hip room, front
    8: Rear
    10: Leg room, front
6: Rear (its the swb model)
    9/9: Headroom front/rear
6: Seat design (typical M-B overly hard & flat seats not to my preference - give me traditional French seating anyday)

    Feedback------------------- 10
    Road feel------------------- 10

    Suspension:
Ride comfort---------------- 3 (better than with the run flats but not good)

    Instrumentation-------------- 8
    Lighting---------------------- 10
    Entry/exit-------------------- 5
Storage space---------------- 2 (you dont buy a mini for storage)
Wind noise-------------------- 2 or 9, depending on if you like hearing it, because you hear a lot of it.

    Steering wheel position---------- 10
    Shoulder room, front------------- 10
    Rear---------------------------- 10
Hip room, front------------------- 10, for me, but it wouldn't do for a fatty...
    Rear---------------------------- 10
    Leg room, front------------------ 10
Rear---------------------------- 2, rear seats are very nice with the exception of your legs
    Headroom front/rear-------------- 10 for both
Seat design---------------------- 10, holds on to your butt very well

overall, i love my car. it has some nuances that can be a bit aggravating. my door has always rattles from the stereo, and i think i may have just blown a speaker in my harmon/kardon system. the little chrome strip on top of my shift knob is peeling a bit. and it is just getting a bit old and tired since it has almost 40k miles of hard driving.

Thanks. I'm enjoying reading all of the reviews/ratings. It's kind of like looking through a magazine.
