R8, just because it looks more sophisticated and it can be had with a manual.

Gallardos had manuals. I'd probably go with a later model Gallardo manual soft top in a loud colour, because what's the point of a Lambo otherwise. I'd not want either as an ultimate driving machine, so it might as well be more of a cruiser.
Life's too short to drive bad cars.

I think the Gallardo is discontinued, as the Hurrican is selling now.

Yes but Kitdy's hypothetical specified the Gallardo.

Oh, I just saw the had.

Gallardos are cool, they just seem more common than R8s.

Not here. Also the R8 just seems a little too serious. Gallardos appeal to my sense of fun.

I'd leave comparing the Hurracan to the R8 2.0.

It's it is cool that VW Group used the same platform for the two cars and somehow made them both very appealing. The pair retained unique character and at the end of the day, my stab in the dark would guess they didn't cannibalize each other much, even though at the outset of the R8 project one might have thought it would be the case.

Actually those German Lambos are the most Lamborghini-ish of all. In any case Ferruccio wanted to make the best car possible with the most advanced components and most perfect engineering.

    All very German.

This is the only case where an Audi is the cheaper version of another car.

Well that and the Q5/Macan duo, probably.

Two wheel drive Gallardo is the answer.

Germanic sensibilities for sure, but I was mostly referring to the lack of comfy GT cars. Though I guess the Urus is to pick up that torch...
