I like it, it looks nice but then you'll have to live near the mediteranean or south cali to fully enjoy a car like this

I live near the Mediterranean, and it can rain for 3 weeks in a row.

These have been confirmed & released by Mercedes Benz/Mclaren.

I have to say I'm not digging it in the slightest. Nowhere near as outrageous as the proportions allowed for.

I like it very much. Hopefully that's the final design.

I quite like it, especially the concept. However the execution is a bit poor. And the automatic is just wrong.

It looks a bit if somewhat it doesn't belong to modern Mercedes though.

I like the fact they slightly changed the overall look of the car, but the new nose is not a real improvement.
perhaps it's a little too futuristic, maybe I would have preferred a more soft and voluptuous body, but I guess it would have ended up being to similar to the original SLR (kill the retrostyle).

75 units are a lot of cars, especially for a open cockpit car, sold at 750.000 euro.
I would have go for just 25 units to be honest. besides, the SLR has already been squeezed enough, this is the sixth variant.

trying to use their new 7 speed gearbox would have been another good thing to do, but as far as both that and the 5-speed are automatic ones, it doesn't really matter, I can't remember serious complaining about the 5 speed.

finally, considering this car is going to be produced starting in June 2009, I think MB will unveil the upcoming Gullwing right before the retirement of this one.

Apparently the 7 speeder can't cope with the torque of the supercharged V8.

The plaid upholstery is a great throw-back to the original 722,

I know, and I'm fine with that, but the first SLR debuted in 2003, and the first 7 speeder in 2004 IIRC, so they had quite a few time to do something else than just playing with the bodywork.

that's because SLR sales are way beyond expectations and they want to squeeze every possible penny of the project

AMG is still developing new gearbox(es), but they won't be ready until something about 2010 iirc

And they are probably following the minimum investment, maximum return rule with this car.

Hey, this isnīt that bad. I like it. It could have been a little more outrageous as it has been mentioned before but this is probably as extreme as you will get with a Mercedes.
