    probably because you only heard americans pronounce the name. Their knowledge, or the lack of it, of foreign languages is proverbial.

    Which part of Germany you from Nerys? I once heard that the southern provinces have a totally different type of German than the northern provinces.

    I live in West Germany (Ruhr area, the Land of collieries) ca. 60 km to cologne and ca. 60 km to the netherlands.
    Oh Yes, there's a difference between the German states, over here they're all very beefy and headstrong. I love it...

    Sounds great. I'd love to visit someday. Munich Bavaria in particular (for obvious reasons! hehe.).

    Munich is great, the area is very nice, but the people speak a middingly weird German.
    One valid reason why I like to live in the Ruhr area is the autobahn, we have 10 around us...
