    Pontiac Solstice Coupe

General Motors' acting CEO Fritz Henderson has said the Wilmington, DE plant that currently produces the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky could be sold if a buyer was interested in producing the two roadsters.

Does anybody really want to buy it after it's gone down the plughole? The same happened with MG-Rover and who the hell's buying new Rovers?
Buying a car and not driving it is like buying a meal and not eating it.

Well the MG TF is back. Who's going to be buying them, that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

I could see this as a modern Cobra. KFL Roadster?

well, from what i've read, the two roadsters aren't as " refined " so to speak as it's main competitor, the MX-5 Miata. but, i have seen them once and while. they don't seem to be to popular here in Canada, as far as i know.on a positive note, they both look excellent, especially the Solctice coupe. its a shame that these companies have to go. i see some potential in these companies.

While I understand what you're saying, it is nice to be able to discuss news things here.

Personally I like the sky better than the solstice by quite a bit. I thought it was a great looking car that looked much more expensive than the actual price. I generally don't like much of anything GM, but I'd consider that one.

Right now, the selection for roadsters isn't huge, so maybe there's a wide range of companies that could consider it. Maybe it'll be the new MR2

Both the Sky and Solstice have a nice presence on the road...and the Coupe looks great.

Wouldn't mind flogging the Coupe but not for $30,000+ for the GXP.

The hardtop Solstice had a targa roof, didn't it?

I wonder why GM always do that.

The targa is an option IIRC.

I think Chevrolet should build a new small sports car with that chassis.
Should Comcast, which is buying NBC, have more motorsports coverage on VERSUS and now NBC? Does North America need a racing tv channel? Find the answer to that exact question on facebook.

one of the first kappa concepts was a nomad, based on the original nomad... looking like a 53 corvette shooting brake. in retrospect it looked a lot like a new mini, but pretty cool no less. i wanted it to be produced, and still do.

I agree. And for those who want to discuss news here, then can you at least make it less "news-reporter" type? Because there already is someone for that here, and there are millions of automotive news websites around.
