i don't think my car will do 100mph..but I don't think it would be a comfortable experience if it did. I once drove my friends 1.8 golf mk3 for a couple of months, i got the impression that it was quite quiet at high speeds.

Thats because it has softer suspension and skinnier and higher tyres I guess.
In my car I can really feel the speed because of fatter tyres with a lower profile and harder shocks, but it still feels grippy and solid . In the following weeks I'm probably gonna take a drive in a lowered mk3 gti 8v with only millimeter thick tyres I wonder how that compares to my car

its actually because the rear prop shaft is noisy, the suspension has seen to many farm tracks, 5th gear is too short, some horses have probaby escaped from the peaky yet harsh 1.3 engine. wind noise is evident too.

Today I've seen a friend's black Mk II GTI 16v with the classic BBS wheels, too bad I didn't take pictures.

because a thread can never have enough lowered mk2 pics :

the current owner of the green one (16v) has had it for more then 10 years now.
that car is always unbelievably clean

edit: the black one (g60 FTW ) hasn't really gotten filthy in its lifetime either

Just did a major service on the engine, turns out it's 20 EUR for 1 spark plug and all the other parts are indeed a bit pricey .
On the bright side: petrol prices are going down slightly , which is nice, considering that I have been driving 300 KMs a day lately ( on average) .
