    a helpful tip.

    Buy some cat grass...

The cat will love you for that

Reminds me when I bought a bunch of cat grass... I left it on the table and went outside and left the door open...

I came back in to find another cat (not mine) sniffing the bag. Two seconds later the random cat just picked up the bag in his mouth and walked out the open door...
Power, whether measured as HP, PS, or KW is what accelerates cars and gets it up to top speed. Power also determines how far you take a wall when you hit it

So they like their weed too huh?

Are old cats "tamable"? Like are they wild unless they were raised as a kitten?

I know nothing about cats, but there might be shots and inoculations that it might need.

All cats tend to be different. Some cats like having their bellies stroked/tickled. Mine, on the other hand, hates it with a passion. Her favourite place is light stroking right on the back of her neck, around where her collar sits. I'd say generally be a lot more gentle than you would with a dog, cats are much smaller!

Generally speaking, purring = good, they are happy and content.

    Meowing = "I want feeding/milk/letting out/attention etc"

However, my cat actually purrs when she's biting and scratching people. I think she's just a psychopath though!

Definitely make sure you take it to the vets to get fully checked out, inoculated, find out whether it's been spayed/neutered etc. Aside from that, enjoy it! Cats are tons of fun!

Don't declaw it, my cat loved to fight, so I don't think it would have been in good shape without her claws. Unfortunately, she died in September after 18 years.

It's like this. Dogs are like men. You give them attention and they're happy. They aren't fussy about how you pet them and they'll eat most anything you give them.

Cats are like women. Each one has individual needs and no two cats like to be pet the same way. They won't tell you how they DO like to be pet, they'll just be pissed off if you can't read their mind. They're finicky eaters, and often will be unhappy no matter what you do. Oh, and they'll eat you if you die.

    Lap dogs count as cats.
I dont if I'll make home tonight

    very well said.

I adore cats and have always wanted one. My parents arent 'pet' people but I'm still working on persuading them to let me buy one. They are great house pets. They dont take much looking after but they are always there when you leave the house in the morning, and always there when you come back at night. Great animals. If one turned up on my door I'd do a check of the neighbourhood to see if anyone's missing a cat, but I'd love to keep it as my own. Take good care of it, give it some food and a warm place to sleep and see what the future holds

i've had catsand dogs all of my life, and there isnt a dog that can really replace a cat. i really enjoy them when they decide to be friendly to me.

my current cat Bettie is insane.... in a good way. she used to be more my cat, but she has as of lately taken much more to my wife. thats fine. she still provides us hours of entertainment with her antics. flipping about attacking her cat toys, bugs, leaves, her tail, nothing at all. or when she is passed out in her 'porn star' poses.

I'm not a fan of cats, thats not to say they dont have their moments.

I think the bond between man and dog is a much less superficial bond.
The cat is like the clown at a party, great for a short time, but goes away more often than is there. a dog is the trusty pal that never leaves your side (unless told to). I have been around dogs and cats my life, And i always find myself going down to the animal shelter to look at the dogs, not the cats.
