The standard VX220 is 27,000 pounds ( you can do the conversion )
The VXR220s are all sold but were nearly 30,000 pounds

you can save your selves so much moola by buy a lotus. oh sorry vx220 were built by lotus.the standard vx is £2000(uk) more than a standard lotus. the lotus is lighter more, fun more forgiving, slighty more on insurance but who gives a gnat chuff when its SOOOO much fun.

Sorry to disagree on the vxR220, but we had one up at knockhill ( the pics are up here somewhere ) and it was THRASHING all the fast cars there including a whoel bevvy of Elises and Exiges
    The VXR220 is faster.

    sweet car...

i remember a while ago i read a magazine article about the Opel Speedster saying that GM would import it for the US market if it weren't for the hassle of getting the car to meet safety and emission regulations. I wrote a letter to GM saying that they should import the car in small numbers (maybe 100 or so) as a Cadillac (just slap a new grille on it) but leave the car how it was and not worry about making it street-legal. The car would only be a "track-day toy" but the idea would be to get all the positive press that you get with a good new model, and to help Cadillac's brand image.
To my surprize, i didn't get back a generic form letter, but someone wrote me back saying theyd pass the idea along to the higher-ups...sadly i never heard back, and we never got this car stateside...but oh well

now...for the conspiracy theory...look at the Cien concept (which came out after my letter)...some of the design elements a quite similar...perhaps GM had a Cadillac Speedster on the drawing boards, and that led to a more refined disign which ended up as the Cien concept.
ok, so it might just be my wishful thinking, but who knows

edit: oops just realized that this is the hideout...and my pics are not hi-res
