That was the GT1 class which was a whole different kettle of fish to the current GT cars.

Lotus had GT1 versions of the Esprit and Elise, which had a V8 rather than the standard 4 cyl. Neither were particularly successful IIRC

Team Elite ran an Elise GT1 in the LMP1 category of the 2004 Sebring round of the LMES in preparation for a full season running 2 cars in 2005 and the 24hrs.

They dropped out after 7 laps with gearbox problems.

Yeah I agree with Fpv_gtho, not sure if it's a grand tourer?

It is supposed to be racing in the FIA GT and Le Mans series GTS class, along with the other cars mentioned, but it doesn't actually comply with the rules for either.

Apparently the overhangs are too long for the FIA and it is too wide for the ACO.
