I think, or would like to think it would be around the 1.19.5 mark

He's not only a reasonably fast driver as it is one hell of a potential car journalist. I love reading the articles he wrote for EVO. The review of the SLR and also the test od McLaren an CGT made me laugh a lot. I guess noone ever made laugh so much as himself in Mr. Bean's skin...

Surprisingly the Top Gear track is a fast circuit .. and although top speed doesnt matter, maximum it would be able to reach on track does. I really think this argument is void though .. the Enzo goes fast in an ass achingly stripped out manner .. the Mclaren F1 can be driven fast while sipping a nice cocktail with a pair of friends, a few sets of golf clubs and without being shouted "post twat" at. Even though popular beliefs within this forum is that Ferrari is called .. 90% of the modern world would probably disagree. But personally I think the Mclaren would win because of the nice straights .. and the Mclaren doesnt handle bad .. just has a bit more body roll because its also made for Luxury unlike the Enzo which is made to go fast without caring for the driver.

Edit : Put the Mclaren F1 GT against them and the F1 would trounce them. Its has the F1 luxury with updated dynamics. It sacrifices the ease of driving in town which the XP4 had so it can increase downforce and power. Shame they didnt put it into production .. only a few were made, some were destroyed for production purposes.

The perpose served was madetory crash testing.

If you have to do crash testing, you'll need to crash some cars. Usually quite hard.

Mclaren would be fastest by a mile. Stig is a good driver, and dosen't need electronic aids for fast lap times, so it would blitz the others.

clarkson said the older cars are faster in a straight and the new ones on the track, he also said the old ones were more fun. I think I'll agree on that my car is from same year as mclaren f1 and its more fun to drive then new cars for sure.

Koenigsegg has promised top gear a CCR to run arond the circut, but want conditions to be comparable to those the Enzo had - a warm, dry track. They want the competition, but expect it to be fair.

ok. Do you have a reliable source?

well

I think the McLaren is slower than all of them. It has been said to handle quite poorly, in comparasin to the cars in its' class. I don't think It is so fast as everybody is believed to think.

Better on a straight but this thread was made to compare it to the cars mentioned in the poll above when racing on top gear's track.

In that track your beloved F1 wouldn't perform quite as good as the Enzo.
