Lotus Elan (semi-wip)

I got this for christmas 2 years ago, and tried to see how fast I could build it. I sprayed it, detailed it, assembled it, and waited for it to dry all in the course of 7 hours.

However, in the process of doing that I had skipped over painting some parts, and I let the overall build quality slip as well.

However I am pretty proud of my custom 'woodgrain' detailing on the console.

One of these days (great song, BTW) I am going to dissasemble it, repaint it, and put it back together.

One weird thing about this model, though, is that it has a hood and engine bay, but no engine.

This is probably the "cheap" Gunze Sangyo kit. Leave it as it is and try to find the high tech version, the BRM Elan, and you will get an engine and many more goodies like a fotoetched chassis to really reproduce the seperate central girder chassis. It sits in my "to do" pile.
