This is what I know.

Lancia Megagamma
Prototype by ItalDesign, year 1978.
Based on mechanics of contemporary Lancia Gamma (Gamma Coupe is just about my all time favorite design ).
Engine: Flat-4, 2484 cm³
Power: 103 kW @ 5400 rpm
Lenght / Width / Height / Wheelbase: 4310 / 1780 / 1617 / 2670 mm
Max. speed: 190 kph

BTW, I belive that Fiat 600 Multipla from 1950s was first modern MPV. Cheers.

For a car designed in 1978 it looks quite modern. I kinda like it, but you´re right that it´s got a funny name

The car is apparently based on the mechanicals of the Gamma, at that time the top of the range Lancia, a fastback four door limo (like the Rover 3500). It is therefore a much bigger car than you may think from the pics. MegaGamma seems therefore to be appropriate.

thanks
The Fiat 600 Multipla however was designed to be a stationwagon version of the fiat 600.However the engine in the back caused problems.to seat 7 people however they made the strange front...

I just remembered what this Lancia reminded me of.
It is an early sketch for the New Fiat Croma.
Giugiaro took 26 years to smooth the sharp edges

Reading the thread I was kind of expecting it to be the Gamma coupe estate proto which should have hit the market as it was an extremely good looking car, alas we get a picture of a car with less street cred than the Nissan Prairie

Think you are in the era that car was made for for just a second. This was a revolutinairy car for its time.the first MPV concept !!! this might have looked a bit ugly for now, but a lot of cars looked like that back then !
