They must've done SOMETHING to the chassis...

the thing is though...why???
Maybe they wanted a manual SLR?
but then why put it in an SLK anyway??

exactly!
this must have cost quite a bit, which probably isnt an issue in dubai but the difference between the Mac (yes Mac not Merc ) SLR and SLK obviously shrinks signiffigantly when you do something like this.
does anyone know if its poosible that this is simply the valve covers off the SLR mounted the the AMG V8, i doubt this is a likely explanation but just curious?

Unless they swapped the front end of an SLK onto an SL, that's an SLK.

That whole idea is just stupidly executed. The holes have jagged edges for one thing which makes it looks amateur, and can you imagine how much air would be ramming into those holes....I bet the hood would fly off at over 100mph.

Given that the McMerc engine is based off the 5.5 V8 that is in the SLK 55, it shouldn't too hard to jam it in there, with the holes in the bonnet especially. As for the manual, is the SLK 55 available with a manual? I didn't think it was. Gearbox would have to change from the 7G-Tronic, cos that can't handle the power from the SL55 engine, let alone the McMerc sucker. Still, a great way to have a car worse than the engine doner. Why bother?
