We nearly had one. Instead we had a Renault 11...

The Fuego was sold in North America though AMC, which was owned by Renault at the time. And of course, the car was made fun of due to it's name: Fuego is Spanish for Fire, and some indeed caught fire due to electrical faults in early cars.

Also, sports versions had a chassis with minimal suspension changes that couldn't cope with the turbocharged engines they had.

That being said, just be glad that AMC didn't actually build the Fuego--it would've been much, much worse.
Power to me is having the ability to make a change in a positive way. Don't dream it, be it.

Do any of you have any more pictures of Fuegos?
    It'd be greatly appreciated.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
