The whole southeast is going to be in effect out of gas in a couple days. Atlanta GA, Chattanooga TN, Knoxville TN all are drying up quickly because the pipelines for this part of the country are completely out of service due to damage and having no power.

It's going to affect prices and supply everywhere. They're going to try an keep the northeast supplied by barging fuel in...but the southest will have to suffer on rations until the pipeline is repaired and refineries can get back online.

It's going to be a very bad situation very quickly.

Still, even at 3.50 usd per gallon, to us Canadians you've got it good. Gas has been 90 cad cents, all the way up to 1.20cad a liter (equivalent to about 5 usd dollars a gallon) well before the hurricane struck. I'd honestly take 3.50 usd a gallon any day, as our gas hasn't been that cheap in over a year.

Now- change the "cents" to "pence" and that's what our petrol prices could be like over the next few months. 90p here already. That's about $8 a gallon?

It's 3.10-3.40 here for regular, about a 35 cent jump in 4 hours.

It's expected to go up another $1.10 in the south and a bit less in the north.
