New Miata and Solstice spotted.

Sadly I couldn’t take a good luck at the Solstice as I saw it while I was driving. The little car looks weird… Not weird in a bad kind of way, but weird in a way that I don’t see anything similar to it on the streets. It catched my attention instantly, and it even made want to own one…

The Miata was parked next to the place where I work so I walked around it and took a good look at it. The car is really nice, great interior and looks really well built (inside and outside). To hell with the hairdresser factor, this car with 170hp, rwd and 2400-2500 lbs is a little mean beast and I honestly wouldn’t mind driving one if it wasn’t for its size.

I’ll snap some pics if I get chance, ‘till then….

There actually was a Solstice at the local dealership last week. It sold the day after it was delivered!!!

I believe they've been taking orders and customers have been waiting for quite some time now. They leave the dealer as they arrive You'll soon get to see tons of them around.

I'm still trying to figure out why the Miata is considered effeminate while the Solstice is not.

Personally, I'd take either of them in a heartbeat though I like the Solstice better for its styling. I don't like the Saturn Sky at all -- it just went too far.

Ok, screw that damn stereotype of these tiny cars with no power. Just cause they have a tiny amount of power, doesn't mean anything. It's a stupid thought that probably (no joke on this part) did indeed come from America. Why? Small - Where else buys SUV's by the masses. Little power - What country seems to be going for the "horsepower per dollar" record on sports cars? 400horsepower 30-40k cars coming out - America loves high power cars. Do Americans care about handling? No, cause some of them feel like it's the "pussy way out of having a weak engine".

The Miata is a genuinely fun car. Would I want to own one? Yeah, but there are other things I'd prefer. But a woman's car? Not really, unless you look at it from the above views.

Saw a black Solstice on the road...it looked very good.

As far as GM aiming at the Miata...the performance figures are very close...the Solstice costs less but it also doesn't have side airbags,ABS or cruise control as standard.

Was that a weight savings move in order to meet Miata performance...or so they could say it cost less....prolly both eh.

i saw a solstice and a sky @ an autoshow in motion last wk(i went there to test drive couple of cars.....1 of those being a C6 vette:P, didn't have a camera though), but those weren't available for "testing" purposes so i couldn't drive 1 of those, i did enter in a raffle for 1 though.....but am sure i didn't win anything.

the solstice looks kool, specially the silver color.

I live right by the GM design center, so I saw a couple of Solstices being tested on teh road before production even started.

I saw that Solstice (at Wonderland) too, I must say it looked pretty damn nice. I'm still partial to the MX-5 though, hopefully it'll be my next car... bit of a stretch, but here's hoping.
