The BMW 600 was developed as a four seater Isetta and was the first BMW to use the twin boxer of the motorcycle fame. The engine was put behind the rear axle and the car had a front door and one normal door on the right side that gave access to the rear seats. The 582 cc engine developed almost 20 BHP and the maximum speed was 103 kph. The car could reach 100 kph in 58 seconds….
The 600 was introduced in 1957 and production ceased in November 1959 with just over 34000 cars completed, but it was BMW’s best seller during the times that the big limousines were really struggling.
