imo colani is a true genious when it comes to the designing

his projects (including cars) are amazingly practical and ergonomic
not many will call the design beatiful but remember that thing is 35 years old!

I had a bit of a poke around, and I can't find anything regarding the vehicle whatsoever other than what's right here, sorry.

Basically when the Mercedes-Benz C111 prototype was presented at the 1969 Frankfurt motorshow, Colani wrote an article saying:
"This C111 is super-modern in terms of the engine, the chassis is a lousy copy of a grand-prix racer, and the carbody is completely sub-par. Ten years ago, a viewer might have gone "ahhh", but today this is a pathetic copycat of a pack that has grown old. And the pack that is doing the design is probably so far gone they can't spell senility. I'm amazed how the whole world accepts the car without so much as a murmur. In Italy, where there are still guys building cars with some skill, all they do is laugh at this car. They're actually happy that such an awful car has been built, because it makes sure they are still the experts."

Colani accompanied this with a counter proposal, which you see in the above photos.
