AC returned to the market in 1947 when it presented the 2 litre, a two door full size sedan, offering ample space for four persons. The engine was a 74 BHP 2 litre in line SOHC six. The contemporary shortage of steel resulted in constructing the body in aluminium over a wooden frame.
The chassis was not very sophisticated with the use of live axles both for the front and the rear suspension.
On the basis of the two litre AC also presented a drop head coupe, while in 1949 the finest version, the Buckland Tourer was presented. The body was made by Buckland in Buntingford near London and it was especially elegant because of its much lower waistline.
About 50 of these cars were made and the shown example underwent total restoration between 1995 and 1997. It is here presented at Interclassics 2005 in Maastricht
