    Volvo 262 C Bertone

    Volvo 262 C Bertone

The Volvo 262 was based on the standard 260 chassis with a shortened wheelbase. The Coupe was designed in cooperation with Bertone, who build the body and the interior, which were then transported to Sweden.

Whether the car can be considered attractive is debatable, but the interior had all the contemporary luxuries available. The price reflected that….
The engine was the 2.7 litre V6 which produced 140 BHP and allowed a topspeed of 170 kph. An autobox was standard.

After the introduction in 1977 the car remained in production until 1981, during which period 6622 examples were made, making it a relatively rare car.

The front end: lights, grill et all, look to big for it.

I wonder if Bertone was taking a jab at Volvo shapes with this interpretation of 'style'.

    Thinking the same thing.

But if it weren't for so many other run down, similar looking Volvos on the streets today, I'd have to say I really like this car.

This is my most favourite Volvo I really love this car, especially the shown early model in silver. Later it was sold in gold painting...

There was one of these standing almost under our windows a couple years ago. Looked really good, even having in mind that it wasn't in perfect condition.

Should have had a more serious engine though There was space aplenty under that bonnet
