Cadillac Fleetwood 60, 1949
The year 1949 saw the production of Cadillac #1,000,000 and for the first time V8 engines became available with overhead valves. Special for 1949 was also the first time ever production of a pillar-less hardtop version, of which 2150 were produced. The more common 4-door limousine was fitted with a 5424 cc V8, delivering 160 BHP and allowing for a topspeed of 160 kph. Shown is a car originating from Texas, but now in Dutch ownership and present at the 2004 Concours d’Elegance at the Loo.
