It's a purpose built ****er with 50 pounds of boost that burns Alcohol. Four banger or not it's 4,800 cc. It could produce that kind of power just no saying how many 1/4 miles runs it'll last???

I dnt think its all so kool 4000bhp from a 4.8l...in 1983 BMW produced an engine for Brabham (the F1 team) it was a 1.5litre...The engine block was that of the 2litre engine from the BMW2002...except decreased in displacement to 1.5litres. And in qualifying spec it would produce 1500BHP

thats 1000bhp per litre...in 1983...with more or less normal fuel (no methanol / ethanol) and no NOS etc.

That THAT is amazing.

I agree that is a true engineering marvel it reved to like 12000RPM and higher and had a peak torque of 250ft. lbs. <-(incredible for 1.5 liters!!!) plus it was running less pressure in the turbo system!!!! (note only 2 small turbos!)
