IF the plans are able to be stretched, I would advise an arrival on Thursday whenever, and leave early Friday morning for the Phillip Island Historics.

Otherwise the plan is to meet at MM on friday, from thereon go to Brooklands (5 mins from my house), or just go straight to mine depending on time constraints. Saturday will be spent at the show.

Highlights are:
The Redback Spyder, a Melbourne built supercar with a top speed of more than 320km/h.
The Rinspeed Senso, a car that can sense a driver's emotions and then modify them for safety and enjoyement.
The Rolls Royce Phantom EWB.
And of course the Shannons Motor Show Auction, with the highlight being a 1932 American LaFrance speedster built for a fire chief.

i was under the impression that the main time constraint was school for the younger ones so maybe we'd have to finish up on saturday/sunday

I was aware, thus the IF was imposed . Merely a suggestion because of the quality of the event at PI.

Also, there is a large possibility that Brooklands will be closed because both owner and son are driving Corvettes at the Historics.

How rude of them, enjoying themselves when we want to come in and waste their time

Yeah that would be nice mate, I was thinking if the car was going i was going to sneak to the show and say helllloo But i think my Saturdays after 1-2pm are jammed as we have this bloody thing every Saturday at my brother house, We go over for lunch have a yarn scream the roof off And go home about 6pm, Then on the bad night my mum and sister take off to bloody bingo and i get stuck with the niece and nephew till 11pm (insert cry icon here)
So What times you going would it be early? I was trying to get my nephew or brother to come and this would be the best way to get out of Saturday lunch

If i got the car going and your all going early then that would be easy enough for me to drive over I'm about 10-15 away going on the ringroad. When the footy season is on I'm almost every week around the corner at the telstra dome
even if it's afternoon time i can do it when i got wheels it's less stressful all round
