Mitsi Evo 9, what a drive.

Nephew had a Evo 9(Mitsi Press Car) for a week and I just took it for a quick fang. It is an absolute rocketship. Would have to be the best handling car I have ever driven. I gave it an huge bootful in a second gear corner, slight oversteer before I could correct with the steering the active diffs, yaw control take over and its all good. The steering is like a go cart, its absolutely fantastic. It would destroy a HSV or FPV in the twisties even with me driving it. Fairly quick in a straight line, not as quick as the club cars. It was black in colour with the matching BBS wheels and red brembo calipers. Only have one photo of me following it in traffic. All the rechargeable batteries in the camera bag were flat . I can now die a happy man, also pray I win lotto and then buy one. The it would be HSV and FPV hunting time.

He's an account manager for Clemenger Bddo Ad company,he's got the account for Mitsi and he had it for 4 days lucky barstard. I have never, ever driven any road car that handles like that. It also had the upgraded ralliart(bilstein) suspension with bbs 18's and Yoko Advan 048r on it. I will not sleep tonight as Im still buzzing.

So does my daughter, took her for a fang in it, she absolutely loved it. She's only 11, that would be an absolutely perfect first car for her

Would those tyres be road legal? Theyre up there with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup's as far as bordering on being a semi-slick goes

They are a lot better than the Evo 6.5, have been in one of them years back and that felt like a race car, where the 9 feels somewhat civilised, Trust me FPV you dont have time to be looking at the interior and soon as you get it you turn into a boy racer . The only time I drove it slow , was down changing from 3rd to 2nd and missed second, have to start practising my heal & toeing . Seriously Rob has had it for a 4 days and believes he could live with it on a day to day basis, the only problem would be speeding tickets.
This one had leather, a/c, mp3, power windows, doorlocks, power steering so it has the creature comforts to get by with.

Thats funny cause at teh moment the club cars run the 032r and cams have approved the a048, so its the same tyre they run on their race cars.

No offense but that bit about the interior sounds exactly what most Amercans come up with to defend their nations crappily built cars But when your pushing 1400kg with 206 i can understand

No doubt though the AWD helps as far as wet weather goes though. I wouldnt want to be the one paying for the new tyres though...

The build quality was good, it just didnt have all the bells and whistles. She certainly hauls, didnt try any six grand starts, the car has only 9500km on the clock, but its a press car. The second to 3rd syncro was a little slow, felt like the change has been missed and crunched a few times.

That must be fairly common...i guess most people get in it and give it a bootfull, the 1-2 shift's no problem but before long they try the 2-3 and find it alot harder

I think theyve got a 5000rpm limit on them for dropping the clutch, i think thats something Motor found out...

What EVO do you guys get and which did you drive ?
One of the guys has a 320 and been in the 340.
I def rate them above the Scoobie
But the insides are typical bland japanese, but you dont' spedn much time looking at hte insides when you're in one
