Skoda puzzle

Earlier, (maybe at around 1978 - 1980), I have taken these three snaps. It has happened during one of ETCC GP Brno races. The story goes on this way: This car was a one-of car only. The origin of this car can be traced to the UK Skoda/Chevrolet importer, who put together it for promoting Skoda cars only. There was not any intent to use it for racing, it even looked to be very hard to drive in fact. It seemed to be too lightweight for a huge engine inside and the back snaked obviously when the driven stepped on the gas. So as there was a Chevrolet connection I expect the engine used came from this stable. Is there anybody who knows more about this Surprising Skoda ?
