Even the 'premium' unleaded is crap here. I havent seen that new Shell Optimax Plus yet, or whatever its called, its the stuff the V8 Supertaxi's use from this year on and apparantly it opened up approx 20 horsepower on the dyno. Ive tried the BP Ultimate, hell, ive even used BP110 in my car on the road, was good to have the extra ability to run a little more total advance in the timing, but besides that, a 350 hp V8 road car doesnt really use the stuff to its potential. Does anyone have a HP-Kw convertor in there diaries? I cant find mine, Im curious to find out what 300kw translates to into old school ponies.

I only know of one servo in Canberra that sells the 100RON Optimax Plus. A friend of mine has a combi tuned to run on 98RON so he doesn't have to use valve protector and he put some 100RON in it on a trip down the coast. It couldn't burn it, lost heaps of power and every now and then there'd be a nice backfire

Different engines always react to the stuff differently. I know my brothers old Kwaka 750 ninja used to choke on normal optimax

I think he said it wasn't running to well anyway, but it was definately not burning it. Normally it runs fine for him on 98RON, pretty fast too with 2litre twin carb running on Optimax. In November last year it was a bit over $1.60 a litre

Getting to be a bit rude how much they charge for fuel. Im definately buying a bike soon. Or converting to gas. Either way means MORE dollars...
