Doing anything to a petrol 206 that is not cosmetical sounds like a great waste of money in my opinion.
Enjoy the car as it is. It's not the car or it's features that will make the difference between having fun or not. In terms of power there's little to nothing you can do. In terms of suspension everything you can do is make the car snappier, which is not only less fun but more dangerous.
Being a former 206 owner, the only suggestion I have for you os to either fit 15'' wheels or to find a 14'' tire with stiffer walls than the standard ones. When I had the 14'' wheels with a profile of 60, the tires used to fold a lot when cornering, making the car unstable. Then I bought the 15'' Speelines with a profile of 50 and the car was absolutely transformed. And believe me, those things car corner really fast.

Thanks you very much, McReis

I've been looking at some 15 inch wheels for a while. Just a matter of some cheap ones to buy! I know it can corner fast, but I don't really exploit that.

There's always some massive lift-off oversteer to enjoy! Gotta love PSA chassis!

Try to find some Speedlines like mine. They go very well with the car.

Well, I've already encountered the understeer side of things and yes, it's a beautiful car to drive- Mum drove it the other day after driving the Civic, and she wants it back

I was looking at some very nice OZ wheels, but I got sniped when I was eBaying them gits. Only by about 5 quid!

How much were the Speedlines? Is that the brand?

Sure. Speedline is a very well know brand.
I bought them second hand from a ricer who found the wheels weren't quite the fit for a lowered Saxo. I bought them 4 years ago along with 4 new Michelin Pilot Exalto for 500€. I had to repaint them though. They were in dark grey and with some kerb kisses. Almost another 100€ for that.

Yeah, everything on eBay is kerbed just found an utterly gorgeous set of magnesium racing Speedlines! A cool €1200...

I'll have to wait a little while. I'll get someone to record me cornering; see if I get the folding that you talk about.

Magnesium wheels require special treatment. They degrade with time. And you don't want to kerb magnesium wheels.
Those look like something that came out of an 80's F1 car.

EDIT: buying wheels over the web might not be a very good solution. You better have a live and close look at waht you buy. They can have permanent damages that are impossible to see in a photo.

I wasn't planning on buying them, I'm a cheapskate

I'm looking at local ads. I'd really like dark grey wheels, as they'd look the absolute business on the silvery-grey 206

Sam would know about that, just got to master finishing the corner, intact, car and pride How does understeer from a 206 1.1 sound to you?

You shouldn't need to worry about that...

Anyway...

Just get them refurbished, it doesn't cost that much, the front nearside (left) rim on the Audi is going away to be refurbished following my father doing a 3point turn in a narrow street in Brighton and smacking a kurb hard, not as hard as you Sam, but still, nasty chip for the wheel.

Tom, that would be really funny except for one thing- it's not. So shut up about it, as you don't even have a license yet.
