67 Olds 425 help

I need help with some stats, and info. I'm helping my brother with some decisions on what to go with. It's a 67 Delmont 425 super rocket. Stats like combustion chamber size, valve size, ex. would be great. If you can, please be sure these stats are correct, they might make the difference in buying a set of heads. Even though there's not much choice there. When it comes to info on parts the more the marrier, because I can only find a small handfull of places that are, ok.

Thanks, someone else on another forum told me to go to that site. It's a great site, but it has all the info on every engine but the 425 lol. Sucks for me I guess.

http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/ofbbb.htm...%20Big%20Block

theres some info here.
im assuming there are "C" heads on that engine correct?

if the letter c is stamped on the heads, then your in business. the 455 and the 425 use the same size heads, so if its a c, then search for that. there is tons of info on c heads

(quoted from 442.com)

C heads :

394548 80cc 2.000, 2.072" 1.625"
67-69 400/425/455's [except W-30 and most Hurst/Olds], including 1968 H/O with A/C. Valves commonly 2.000" and 1.625", but Toronado and 442 [except Turnpike Cruiser] heads had the larger 2.072" intakes. Presumably the H/O with C heads also had the large valves. Shallow spring seats. No hard exhaust seats. On 1967 engines, RH head will have the engine ID stamped into the front. Correct for 67-69 442's, even 68 H/O with air. Heads for 1967 W-30 or California cars had the A.I.R. passages [that boss on the exhaust port] drilled, tapped, and plugged. Some '68-9 442's with auto trans may have had small valves. This is reputed to be the best-flowing head, and is still fairly easy to find.

Wow, you are a god. Don't let anyone tell you less
I must of done a crappy job looking through that site, thank you very much.

Yup, there's a C left of the exhaust port.

I found what I was looking for, for the most part. There just isn't very much info out there about Delmont, but we know what we wanted to find out before we go into the rebuild. It's says it has 10.5 to 1 ratio, so if it has cracked heads we would have to go with the 77cc heads that bumps it up just shy of 11 to 1. I guess we would want to get some dished pistons if that's the case.

Here's a picture of the car, I had to make it smaller so you can't see the dirt as well. My brother would be pissed if a posted a picture of his car dirty lol. I should have taken a picture of the interior of the car, it's perfect, all original. The wheels didn't come on the car of couse, but the the originals are in the trunk.

The car runs great I think he just wants to get it rebuilt so he can get all the power that's missing back, and then some. Maybe we'll post a pic of it doing a burnout before we pull the engine.

I'll make sure to tell him about that. What do you think are the odds of the heads being cracked? The intake and exhaust manifolds are both cracked.

I'll make sure to tell him about that. What do you think are the odds of the heads being cracked? The intake and exhaust manifolds are both cracked. What kind of price would you want for the pair?
