VE SV6 Test Driven

Found this last night, Watched it it's alright sounds more like a V8 maybe thats why many get the poos with it because a 6 should sound like a 6.
But other then that heavy car 3-4 in it moves pretty well looks pretty good and quite on the road, I don't think that guy driving it had the seat far enough to the peddles there is a view where he is stretching for the peddle a bit to much.

But i think this is the first Video of the Alloytech engine going hard it doesn't sound to bad at all really i didn't think it was stressing as it built revs, But some wont like the V8 type sound but the exhaust sounds decent with it.

cheers for posting that up slick, nice watch

haha wat a boring radio station, pretty crap host to be honest

exhaust not has a faint v8 note doesnt it, especially when pushing it a bit. I saw one in the carpark at the gym last week, had that great orange paint, the dual exhausts looked pretty good, though im still not a fan of the "flat" or short front.

Saw an orange SV6 parked in Auckland today (still on holiday from Sydney atm ). An SS went past me the other day as well north of Auckland. They look good on the road.
But Slick, when I saw the headline "SV6 Test Driven" I thought a forum member had had the chance to go for a decent drive in one.
I'm driving a rental Toyota RAV4 at the moment, but I'm going to the South Island in a few weeks. I'm going to ring a couple of the rental car companies and see if any of them have the VE available yet. Here's hoping....
I'll post some observations of the RAV4 (current model), the Camry Sportivo (old model) that I had last week and whatever I end up driving in the South Island at some stage.

Damn that's really beginning to sound like a V8 when he gives it some throttle!!

I've seen only 2 VE's on the road so far (in peak hour), and I saw a new Camry today. To be honest the VE I saw yesterday (A green Berlina) seemed to blend in and didn't really stand out. Maybe it was the colour...

I'm looking to hire one myself, If they only have omega and Calais i think I'll go Calais to fiddle with it a bit more or i could go 3 days 1 omega 2 Calais. When Bathurst was called off this year i stuck the money away and slowly added $10 here and there to try and get it up higher to maybe get 2-3 days on a VE, Must admit to wanting to try the Terra Turbo and 380 and even the Aurion.

I was surprised myself at how the engine sounded V8 like, But was more surprised at how it wasn't as everyone described it, One of the last comments said was it sounds like a XF Taxi.

As blitz said bad radio station. but seemed like a pretty quite ride just getting around even the guy with the camera wasn't having trouble holding the camera still, Different story in my car.

When i first saw the pictures i thought it was alright, prevered the Aurion's larger headlights, but still thought it was alright.

In person though, and looking at the rear it was completely different though.

yes you are. In the flesh they look very weird especially the front with the bulgy badge incorporated into the bonnet.

Sounds fairly simliar to the VZ SV6. My uncle has one
As has been said, the ride did look pretty smooth.
I got to go have a look at and sit in VEs and Camrys at the Royal Show last week, the VE I was impressed with (they had the E-Series GTS there ) but the Camry is still ugly. The interior didn't do much for me either.
