    No story about it?
I know where the inspiration came from...

When I found the pictures there was no accompanying story, but you can view the history of the Thomassima cars in the link.
It's a very interesting read, and covers almost everything about Tom Meade and his brilliant creations.

My apologies, this is not the Thomassima I, but the Thomassima II.

Yes, it is inspired by the P3 and P4.

Hmmm. Was hoping I might be able to see these photos of the Thomassima II.
O.K. Message at the top of the screen says that I need to post something.

This thread seems as good a place as any.

Check out this thread on FerrariChat: Thomassima II of Tom Meade - FerrariChat.com

Thomassima is a real brand? One of my favorite Hot Wheels when I was a kid was a red car I thought was made up called "Thomassima III"

    Hi, Jo ?
Sorry for the late reply. I'm interested in that B&W photo - the side view of the Thomassima II that you posted last year.

The photo appears to have been taken on the owner's, Harry Windsor's, driveway - I'm guessing some time between 1968 and 1970.
It looks like you scanned the image from a printed page. Can you remember what magazine (or newspaper) it may have come from ?

    Obrigado, Paul.

Sorry - I'm just too busy on other forums (already).
To be perfectly honest, the only (real) reason I re-activated my user ID was so that I could view the photos in this thread.
Apart from posting on FerrariChat; AtlasF1 Nostalgia and SuperCars.net (and others) ....
.... I also try to find time to run my own BB forum (http://www.p4replicabb.com)

There are only so many hours in a day ! .... and before you ask - No sorry - it's a private members forum.

Well, I wouldn't exactly call it a 'brand'. More of a 'marque' (though Tom Meade might disagree. )
We're talking about a 'specialist' car here - only 4 cars actually bear the 'Thomassima' name - to date.

So you're not much more than a kid, now then ?
Those Hot Wheels models of the Thomassima III only came out in 1999.

No, the Thomassima III is very much a real car - and is still owned by Tom Meade.
It's the most famous of his creations. Featured on the cover of R&T in December 1970.

Lots more B&W photos of it here: Document sans titre

If you want to read up more about Tom Meade and his Thomassimas ....
.... there was an excellent article, entitled 'Art Life', published in Auto Aficionado, in January 2007.

Click on this Ferrarichat link: FerrariChat.com - View Single Post - Thomassima II of Tom Meade

.... and then the 'AutoAficionadoTomMeade' pdf link at the bottom of the post. It's a darned good read.

Hah, I think I've found where you guys 'lifted' your photos of the Thomassima II (and others) from:

Rareté only: le retour - Auto titre.com .... (and scroll down the page) Correct ?
