![]() They make higher profits on larger vehicles, like their beloved SUVs. That's what kept Ford profitable...until the SUV market bust. I would assume newer cars out of Detroit would be slimmer on profit margins than in the past to try and compete with Japan/ Korea.

Here's a bit of recent information on a few recently profitable companies (all in USD): Average profit per vehicle sold: Audi: $2047 BMW: $3207 DC/MB/Smart: $917 Porsche: $28,247 Toyota: $2182 VW: $430 |

Yeah, I think those figures have come up before and all that'd be done to get them was divide reported profit by cars sold.
