Symonds Plains
I know this may be a bit early. but I was curious to know who you think is going to win at Symonds Plains and why.
I think that the Toll HSV Dealer Team will be on the podium, with Lowndes being about 5th. This will tighten the knot with Lowndes probably just winning, maybe even just trailing by a few points. It all depends on the teams performance and skill.

The key to the track is the hairpin - the brakes going into it, and the powerdown exiting for that long back straight/curve.
I'd expect the Walkinshaw teams to be strong in qualifying as usual, but Lowndes and co will have something for them in the races. Steven Richards was strong last year I recall. I really wish they'd change the three-race format for some of the rounds - the races are boring, too short compared to the 300km mini-enduros they used to have IMO.

I have a great question. What the hell is this race? Sorry for sounding like a dick, even if I am one.

It's the 11th round of the Aussie V8 Supercar Series, and it's a 3-race weekend in Tasmania.........still a few weeks away though. Perhaps the thread should have a different title, as not everybody knows what/where Symmons Plains is.

Those Toll cars are very fast. I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the podium. I wouldn't forget about Lowndes though, after that drive though at Indy he will definately be on the attack. Mark Winterbottom is also on the pace.

To settle the Symmonds Plains issue, its one of those tracks that are just a tiny lil bit to big for 5hp gokarts, but not quite big enough for real cars, but still gets a accreditation for V8's when Mallala shits on it hands down...

I have a question for you Australians and New Zealanders. Word on the street is you guys kinda have a "hatred" towards each other, kinda like Canada and America. I don't hate Americans, but no less, in any sporting event I cheer two teams Canada, and anybody against the States. Is it like that with you dudes in general, or what? And is calling someone and "Aussie" or a "Kiwi" offensive? Man, I must sound like a tool for asking, but I am a curious North American. And hell, our cultures are very similar (as is Brittain) as all our countries were originally colonies and the like. Once again, you Australians have those ill Falcons and I wish we had them. Mind you, we have useless gas-guzzling SUV's...

It's not a hatred........just a funny sorta rivalry we've got going on........mainly in sports. It's not offensive, but when we beat Oz at something, you certainly hear about it!!!

I don't see any kind of hatred between us...
It is funny though to point out that New Zealanders rape sheep

My prediction is Rick will stall the car coming out of the hairpin again, but Lowndes will have nowhere to go and hit him from behind, spinning the car around. VESA will jump the gun again, handing him a drive through penalty before CH10 get the chance to stick the camera into HSVDT's garage to hear them talking about engine issues. Winterbottom will have a clean sweep of the whole weekend, which together with Lowndes and Rick's issues will fulfill VESA's desire to have a close championship as they go to Bahrain with 3 championship contenders.

It's the Big brother syndrome mostly - NZ is the smaller nation and were asked if they wished to joing the commonwealth of australia, which they politely refused. Being both predomniantly english-settled countries in the south pacific, there has always been a little rivalry because of our similarities. Ask to watch a Bledisloe cup match, you'll see what I mean
