Ford Mustang Concept by Giugiaro 2006

Ford today unveiled the Mustang Giugiaro concept — a one-off design study by Fabrizio Giugiaro, styling director of Italdesign. Ford officials aren't saying anything, but there's speculation in the automotive that Giugiaro concept might preview some aspects of the next-generation 'Stang.

Visually, the Mustang by Giugiaro appears more compact than the production car, thanks to a reduction of the rear overhang and a signature Giugiaro “trick” of tapering the angles on the car to the limit of its mechanical outlines. The vibrant orange concept is wider than the production version. The Giugiaros added 30 millimeters to the front, gradually expanding the width by a full 80 millimeters toward the rear.

The 500 horsepower car features a single curved glass panel that bridges the windshield and rear window, serving as the concept’s roof. Produced by Solutia of Detroit, the panel is made from a special type of crystal that filters out 100 percent of UVA rays while providing unfettered vista views. The car's doors open vertically, with hinges at the base of the upright A-pillar.

Wow I kinda liked it until I seen the interior. Not much of a fan for the all glass roof either.

Ya know what? The whole thing is just to Italian for a Mustang.

I love it. Glass roofs are the future, especially the electrostatically controlled ones which can be made opaque at will. I think the interior looks bad in the picture but would look nice in real life, and is definitely high quality. Taillights are the worst part imo, i've always like nice simple circular lights.

the exterior styling imo is okay. im not a fan of the wierd lines at the exterior compared to the regualr mustang, but still, i like it. the interior, exactly how badda said, too Italian for a Mustang. Also, what's with the wierd shifter?

i agree, looks strangely reminiscent of the z9 concept (the precursor of the 6 series)

the roof is nice but overall a bit nondescript apart from tacked on mustang grill

I really quite like it. It looks quite nice. I think that if they lost the rear seats and shortened it ever so slightly it would be a much better car in my opinion. It would have to have the go to match the looks however. I always feel that current Mustangs are just to big, hence Lotus Exige is high on my desire list. This looks much smaller.

i was waiting for High-res thanks mate.

The front's nice, however, the rear lights are horrible imo, and them wing mirrors don't look too good, despite hardly being noticable. they should just be integrated onto the side of the pillar if they are going to be that small...

I somewhat don't like it, too unadventurous for my liking, and the Brera doors look completely out of place.
