Good idea, will do. It's a real mess trying to buy a car, I tell ya!

Well there is a lot of people on this site that can offer some guiding advice and things. What have you narrowed it down to so far and what are you using to find the cars? Autotrader?

Yep, autotrader. I searched on other websites too but their results aren't as convincing as autotrader's are.

I'm still open to any suggestions, I searched for those I know on top of my mind that are reliable. My top picks are listed in the thread so far. I'm not restricting myself to brand or country, except maybe USA because I'm tired of having only american vehicles in the family. My only real restriction is the money.

Alright folks, I might be getting a new job soon so I could be in the market for a new car again, and I could possibly buy it in a matter of months if all goes well! After lengthy thinking I thought about the 4 main criteria for the car:

1. It has to be all-wheel drive. I drove FWD and RWD cars here during winter, and it sucks. When the average snowfall a year is 4 meter, you have to drive something that sticks to the road! Unfortunately that criteria cuts a lot of sports car possibilities.*

2. I got a $10,000 CAD budget. Not more.

3. Under 100,000 km (62,000 miles) on the clock if possible.

4. Preferably a 'recent' car (2000 and up), if possible.

So far I thought about Audi A4s, and possibly A6s, and Imprezas of course. The best Impreza I could get is the 2.5RS, no WRXs in buying range sadly

If you guys could bring some suggestions I'd be very grateful, I suggest this site if you want to help

*An old school, kick-ass Bimmer could be an exception.

EDIT: All previous suggestions are still taken into consideration.

Don't write off the Impreza RS 2.5, very good car. Lots of WRX bits underneath, and the 2.5 engine is supposed to be quite good.

Who cares? it's all about how you handle the car.

4WD's slip off the road too

How is it that cars made by people who live in similar conditions are fail at snow driving?

Don't get me wrong - I agree. but it'd be fun for the first 20 times.
