Good find. I've only got a small pic of it from a similar shoot.

"When Toyota realised that the Celica 4T-GTE wasn't very competitive outside of Africa, the team started work on a new contender - a 600 horsepower MR2. With the cancellation of Group B, the car was never entered in rally competition."

I'ts not a Group B car, but rather a Group S car. It's rules were even freer than Group B ones, with only 20 cars to be built, amongst other things. After Toivonen's accident in 1986, FIA cancelled both Group B and S.

From what I read Group S cars were supposed to be limited to 300 hp. That's why I assume it's a Group B car (since it has 600 hp) and not a Group S.

Group A cars were supposed to have 300bhp too, and in the early 90's the top cars developped in excess of 400bhp. Despite having 600bhp this was intended as a Group S car, and so where the Lancia ECV1 and 2, amongst other cars.

I was of the thinking that whilst still insanely powerful like GrpB, GrpS was supposed to be more controlled than the B, making the cars safer.

Controlling progress and focusing development. IMO the problem that made GrpB unsafe was that they were developing the engines and making them so powerful so quickly they couldn't develop the chassis' and AWD systems quickly to make them safely drivable, so you had 600hp cars that started life as 3-400hp cars. By making the GrpS set at, and designed with, 600hp, they'd have been safer. For example, the big powerful GrpB Audi's couldn't even use their handbrakes because the AWD system was too simple to deal with it being pulled, but they pushed the power up and up and up.
