    Caparo T1 RRV

(from Caparo Group Press Release) related thread and discussion

MET POLICE - RAPID RESPONSE VEHICLE

Getaway drivers and outside lane lovers beware! The Met Police has a teamed up with Brit supercar manufacturer, Caparo, to conceive a brand new Rapid Response Vehicle (RRV) for the future – on show at MPH ’07 this weekend.

Capable of accelerating from a Police lay-by to 100mph in just 5 seconds and onto a top speed of 200mph, the Caparo T1 RRV would be deployed to hunt down car criminals within the M25.

Like everything else in the Met Police’s armoury, this bespoke RRV is intended as a deterrent. Just check your mirrors next time you fancy breaking the speed limit!

I thought it was just the PIT maneuver, as in the Precision Immobilization Technique...

It is called the PIT maneuver. Different departments have different acr. for it. My department uses Precision Intervention Tactic. Ive also heard Pursuit Intervention Technique. But im not certified with it. We do more training in boxin maneuver's and channeling plus spike strips.

    I'm not that fussed.
I must have been in a bad mood at the time and wanted to pick holes in something.

Parking spaces for helicopters are slightly harder to find, thus making it impractical. Oh, and this is just a publicity stunt, so it doesn't even matter

I would say exactly the contrary, finding a parking space for helicopters is way easier (they are bigger than the space required for a car, but you don't need a proper parking space though), and you don't even need to properly land.
