They're just... pointless! They don't even look good. If making your riced-out Corsa look like a charver nightclub is your thing, well.. you need help.

They only last about five minutes before getting smashed on the road anyway. Luckily.

I don't think that they do anything to improve a car.

They infact are not illegal, however they do have disclaimers saying that they are intended for show use only

i must admit i do like the glow effect, though they do smash very easily: couple of days ago a escort came in to the m.o.t station i work at, then an old geezer called george spotted the neons and said "what the hell are these??"(on the ramp) he didnt have a clue , i said "NOOOOOOOO becareful there" before i knew it he'd tapped them and smashed them!
and going over rocks, bumps on roads break them soo easily....
I suppose they do make your car look ricey... but only if your cars crap.

it just brightens up your car

Any car should have two headlights, two rear lights and occasional (working)indicators. Anything else is useless and confusing. (We could also start a thread about the abuse of fog lights but not here)

Stop looking at me! Look at me! Stop looking at me!
I know at least in Oregon, USA, if a package is labeled 'intended for show use only' they are in fact illegal on the road.

Here in Pennsylvania they are indeed illegal. If you have them on your car and you turn them on be prepared to get pulled over. I also think under car lights a very lame.

I think neons look really great. I wouldn't get any but although they are somewhat pointless, they add some pizazz on show cars.

Everything's illegal in Pennsylvania.. I'm wondering the legality of my custom grill (with fog lights) I'm gonna put in. But hey, I can just say they aren't hooked up if the cops ask.

They're ok to draw attention to your car at a show, but on the road? No. It can hurt people's eyes, especially if they're tired, and well....they're annoying. Waste of money if ya ask me....
