Which Movie series is more EPIC?

This came across my head today and I honestly cant say which is more epic. It's definitely a toss up for me. I love both series... both have fantastic acting, directing, etc etc...both made huge amounts of money and both have huge fan bases

So what do you think....

Lord of the Rings or Stars Wars?

I tried to watch Lord of the Rings once. After the first 8 minutes were nothing but the camera flying over a swamp, I turned that shit off.

I find them both equally boring... The whole trilogy of LOTR could last 3 hours (by that I do mean adding the 3 friggin movies together). Just cut damn Frodo and his stupid friends in the quest of destroying the ring and leave the battles and such... I guess Star Wars is better now that I think about it, at least the movies are not so long and filled with unnecessary scenes.

LOL, I couldn't watch much of any of the LOTR movies either

On the other hand, Star Wars is beyond epic

USA, Colorado,
I rather liked them both. But I dont consider them epic really. They are more of a series, which doesnt automatically make them less epic, it just takes much longer to tell their story. I consider movies like "Requiem for a Dream", "Donnie Darko", "2001 A Space Odyessy", "Mullholand Drive", and others of that nature to be epic because they are radical, new, and different from most any movies out their. I would consider THAT more epic than say 300,000 C.G. figures battling each other. Star Wars and LOTR are just classic heroes tales.

They are both epic, Light sabers ftw. But since LOTR is made in nz I voted for it.

Some of my more memorable dreams involve light sabers and what would happen if I had one. I think it is fair to say that Star Wars episode 4,5,6 far surpass the latest 1,2,3 (however 3 was quite well done). Real (even if miniturized) objects filmed are always going to be better than their C.G. rivals IMO.

It's like choosing between Nerds and Geeks.

Both suck, but one has surprise incest.

thus, it wins.
