    Derbi DH2.0 Concept

The Derbi DH 2.0: a little emotion-producing factory

Always looking at the most current trends in all aspects related to modern man, and especially in those related to anxieties and the need for freedom and individuality, Derbi breaks all the moulds in the world of bikes launching the DH 2.0, a totally new and transgressor concept of a motorcycle that connects directly with the most intimate and pure emotions of today’s young people. Derbi innovates, but always taking the desires of its clients as a starting point.

    The grandeur of the minimum

The new Derbi DH 2.0 is pure passion, a machine taken to the minimum to achieve the maximum. With a wink to the beginnings of the brand – the name Derbi comes from “DERived from BIcycle” – this new creation, born in the ideas laboratory of the Catalan brand, was inspired in the downhill category, from which its gets its name (DH = Downhill, taking it to a new level: 2.0) and other extreme sports like snowboarding or kite surfing to unite the possibilities of experimenting fun and emotions in the concept of a small bike (100cc, 39,9 kg), without complications or risks of any kind and with a complete respect for the environment thanks to the special characteristics of its engine. The simplicity of the structure pursues as its main objective, converting it in a prolongation of the rider’s extremes, becoming a direct and immediate connection between what the eye sees and where the rider want to take it his movements.

Exquisiteness of the components and high technology details

In spite of its minimalism, the new Derbi DH 2.0 hides a rich world of high tech details that give it style and function in equal parts. It starts with its frame, made from aluminium and whose interior integrates the petrol tank, thereby avoiding any unnecessary volume. The oval profile evokes veins where blood flows redder and hotter than ever.

No effort was spared in the quality of the suspension system. In the front, an upside-down fork with 38mm bars, a reinforcement bridge and a double platen fixing points on the sports cover are responsible for the steering of the machine.

An air monoshock rear suspension comes with a precharge regulation using extendible bars, anchored using a cantilever system and supported by inferior flexion springs, following the latest and most sophisticated trends in Downhill. This bundle of characteristics guarantees maximum efficiency with minimum volume and weight, and offers a high tech image that captivates lovers of this kind of vehicle.

Take a look at details like the disc brakes, cooled and with a wavy profile, and with specific dimensions for this unique bike, the stylized, carbon fiber motor protector plate or the exclusive tyres of 2.6” and 3” mounted on aggressive black rims equipped with sturdy axles.

    4T ecological engine

Originality and efficiency are also a part of its engine. A single cylinder, 4-stroke, 100cc motor, complete with automatic transmission and air cooling, with minimal emissions levels and a carbon fiber silencer with a central exit point underneath the ergonomic seat and especially conscientious of the environment that will be the habitat of this little emotion-producing factory. An engine that becomes the key for climbing to the point where we want to begin the descent, without the necessity of outside help. Additionally, it is easily dismountable for those who are looking for an even purer feeling from this descent machine.

Once again Derbi has found the way by starting at the beginning. Starting with the desires and needs of the youngest riders, it is able to offer them another escape from the labyrinth of emotions, taking with them the most advanced trends of the moment. The Derbi DH 2.0: a little emotion-producing factory.

Hmmmmmmmm, a DH bike with an engine.
    26" wheels
Avid Code 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes
Marzocchi 888 Double Crown DH Fork 20mm thru axle
    Marzocchi ROCO Air shock
    Crank Bros. 5050XX flat pedals

All of these things I could find on a production DH race bike, that would weigh in at around 39-44lbs. I think I'll take the mountain bike personally.
