    SunRed SR21

This car competes in the Spanish GT Championship and the International GT Open. It has a mid mounted 4-litre normally aspirated V10 which develops 500bhp and it weights 1140kg. I think it's more or less the equivalent of a GT1 car.

It drives in the GT2 class equivalent in Spanish GT.
Usually duking it out with RSV Motorsport or Autorlando Sport..

SunRed is actually planning a GT1 car, and the have produced the production car for homologation, but I've got no idea when the SunRed GT1 car will materialise.

    There's no road legal version.

And I believe the engine is from Judd.

    thanks.
I don't understand why it's allowed to use a car which isn't based on a road legal version. usually in GT championship it isn't so, AFAIK.

Well I guess they let them in Spain. They also let Seat race the Cupra GT altough they didn't built any road going versions either.

yap I was referring exactly to it. I saw it for the first time racing in the Open GT a couple of years ago, but it didn't seem very competitive against the Viper Competition Coupe, the F430 GT2 or the Mosler MT900.
    what about this?

To be brutally honest I don't follow the Spanish GT Championship very closely...

Actuallly it's funny you should mention it because the weekend I saw on telly quite a lot of motorsports that I don't usually see.

There was Le Mans, then the WTCC Brno race (that's proper racing, not F1), the Turkey WRC round (or in the words the Ford Cup) and finally a race of the Spanish GT Championship.

Both SunRed SR21 did pretty poorly actually...
